Three years ago they suffered from a heavy financial loss due to the tsunami just 2 years after starting their business.

After such a short time of operation they had a relatively high amount of debt which was no problem for them then.
But now they have to pay back the old debt in addition to the new debt they needed to rebuild their resort. The new bungalows were finished in December 2005.

The insurances did not pay for their loss, because Saeng and San had insured the resort against all risk that included flood and high water but not specifically against earthquake. And the cause of the tsunami was an earthquake in the sea, as everybody knows.

Cousin Resort is situated at Bang Niang Beach in Khao Lak. The beach is 150 meters away, the next beach restaurants 200 meters.  

The distance from the International Airport Phuket to Khao Lak is 80 km. The transfer from the airport is offered for 1400 to 1800 Baht per trip and takes just about 70 minutes.

To everybody's surprise the beautiful, 2 km long sandy Bang Niang Beach gives the impression of not only being very quiet but almost deserted from people.

Cousin Resort
offers also two houses for families (or groups):

They consist of two modern sleeping rooms with airconditioning,
two bathrooms with shower and warm water,
plus a living room with relax corner, fridge and coffee machine.
From the terrace there is a nice view of the pool or the tropical garden.
In the season each family house costs 3500 Baht per night.

For a child with an extra bed the rate is 300 Baht per night.
A toddler in the bed of the parents is free of charge.

 The medium sized swimming pool is very popular.
In the children area the youngsters enjoy playing, while the parents swim
a few rounds or indulge in the Jacuzzi basin.
There are enough reclining chairs for every guest.
